This photographic exhibition documents the drama of wars fought in the name of religious faiths. The project, curated by the photojournalists Paolo Siccardi and Roberto Travan, is the result of a selection of one hundred and ten shots taken in the Balkans, the Caucasus, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa, transformed into the story of what remains of God in those places where people fight, suffer and die. Faith thus becomes the thematic link that reveals conflicts, often unknown, because they are far from the media spotlights. The photographic testimonies collected in the trenches, in the churches, in the mosques, in the destroyed synagogues, among populations driven into poverty and refugees on the run, are dramatic testimony to the thin line separating life from death especially in war. The exhibition is divided into four macro-geographical areas: the Balkans, Europe and the Caucasus, the Middle East and Africa. The exhibition is organized by the “Museo Nazionale del Risorgimento Italiano” in collaboration with the Regional Council of Piemonte and with the support of Fujifilm Italy.
